Abstract
The basic issue dealt with in this article is the investigation and interpretation of data to found Diaconiology/Practical Theology from the view of the Science of Epistemology. To accomplish this aim, attention is paid to the field of study of theology in general and Diaconiology in particular. Dooyeweerd’s Philosophy of the Law is critically analysed and the results utilized to select foundational views applicable to Diaconiology. In conclusion attention is focused on the way in which scientific research should be conducted in Diaconiology according to the point of departure highlighted in this article.
