Abstract
El trabajo presenta un panorama general sobre la formación y conformación de los asentamientos humanos en el actual estado de Guanajuato. La perspectiva desde la que se aborda el estudio es el urbano – regional. Reconstruimos las formas de apropiación del territorio hasta el establecimiento de los asentamientos humanos de mayor relevancia a la llegada de los españoles a nuestro territorio en el siglo XVI. Señalamos las características generales de los asentamientos. Las fuentes documentales son las producidas por los arqueólogos, antropólogos e historiadores.
This work presents a general view of the formation and conformation of the human settlements in the current state of Guanajuato. The perspective from which the study was undertaken is the urban- regional. The forms of land appropriation were reconstructed until the establishment of human settlements of greate rrelevance at the arrival of the Spaniards to Mexico in the XVI century. The documentaries sources are the ones produced by archeologists, anthropologists and historians.
