Abstract
La lingua che si impara in un nuovo Paese varia da età a età: c’è la lingua dei bambini, quella degli adolescenti, quella degli adulti. C’è la lingua colta, e quella di chi la impara svolgendo le mansioni più umili. E scoprire il nesso fra le parole, i suoni e le cose varia da categoria a categoria, da individuo a individuo. È una scoperta straordinaria e continua che merita studio e attenzione. In questo processo l’universo della lingua natìa e quello del paese d’arrivo si confondono e si intrecciano in un discorso che trascorre e si sovrappone. Perché le parole della nuova lingua trovino posto accanto a quelle della lingua materna come nuovo “polline di sogni” è necessario che il clima nel quale si sviluppa l’apprendimento della scrittura in italiano sia di apertura, curiosità reciproca, riconoscimento di una storia che ha radici altrove e che ha sedimentato saperi, competenze, parole.
Giving words to the world. writing in another language
The language learned in a new country varies from age to age: there is the language of children, adolescents, adults. There is the language of higher education and that of those who learn by performing menial tasks. Discovering the connection between words, sounds and things varies from group to group, from individual to individual. It is an extraordinary, continuous discovery that deserves study and attention. In this process, the universe of the native language and that of the country of arrival mingle, intertwine and overlap. So that the words of the new language fall into place alongside those of the mother tongue, creating a new “dream pollen”, it is necessary that the process of learning to write in Italian be characterized by openness, curiosity, and the mutual recognition of a history that has roots elsewhere and has sedimented knowledge, skills, words.
