O presente artigo passa em revista as concepções platônicas sobre mímesis e, mais que concepções, sua própria condenação à poesia mimética. Condenação que na República, assume três sentidos diferentes: primeiro um sentido de cunho conteudístico, um segundo sentido estilístico e um terceiro ontológico.
