Abstract
Neste trabalho busca-se estudar o processo de reanálise envolvendo o substantivo tipo, no português do Brasil. Assumindo um estatuto diverso do originário e associando-se frequentemente ao advérbio assim, esse item lexical vem sendo empregado com novas acepções efunções nos diferentes planos da nossa língua, configurando-se, assim,como um caso de gramaticalização e discursivização em curso.
