Abstract
O desenvolvimento de Grupos de Pesquisa (GP) ganha força frente à expansão do incentivo a produção científica. Deste modo, este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar as características dos grupos da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) cadastrados no Diretório de Grupos de Pesquisa no Brasil (DGP/CNPq). Trata-se de uma pesquisa quantitativa, descritiva e exploratória. Os dados foram coletados na base de dados do DGP/CNPq e tabulados no software Microsoft Excel. Apresenta características de: a) GP, por Áreas do Conhecimento e Unidades Acadêmicas da FURG; b) temporalidade dos grupos; c) quantificação das linhas de pesquisa e; d) análise dos membros dos GP. Considera a temática de Grupos de Pesquisa essencial no entendimento da comunicação científica.
