Abstract
Este artigo examina o sistema pronominal em línguas de sujeito nulo e tem por objetivo avaliar a hipótese de que morfemas de concordância e pronomes fracos surgem a partir da redução fonológica de pronomes fortes. A análise propõe que clíticos e afixos de concordância são capazes de satisfazer a EPP e a receberem Caso estrutural por terem estatuto de argumentos selecionados pelo verbo. Acompanhando a proposta de Alexiadou e Anagnostopoulou (1998) e de Kato (1999), propõe que a categoria pro pode ser dispensada do componente sintático da gramática.
