Abstract
O uso do violino nas sonatas para violino e piano de Camargo Guarnieri é investigado neste estudo. O procedimento analítico utilizado revelou que o vocabulário violinístico empregado nestas sonatas pertence ao idioma violinístico do século XIX, porém expandido. Observa-se, também, um aumento no nível de dificuldade técnica violinística das primeiras às últimas sonatas, revelando a crescente familiaridade do compositor com as possibilidades técnicas do violino. Conclui-se também que, considerando os conteúdos musical e técnico-violinísticos, as sonatas podem ser classificadas em três grupos: iniciais (nos. 2, 3 e 4), intermediárias (nos. 5 e 6), e tardia (no. 7).
