Abstract
Este artigo propõe um contraponto entre teorias da experiência, aqui entendida como gerado¬ra dos modos de consciência que constituem os fundamentos do pensamento e da expressão humana. A partir disso, coloca-se num mesmo plano o poder específico da música para gerar sentidos e a capacidade humana de produzir pensamento. Esse paralelismo só é possível por considerarmos o referencial teórico das ciências cognitivas contemporâneas, a partir do qual a constituição de uma semântica da expressão musical parece plausível.
