Abstract

After brief analysis of the epistolary genre and the specificity of the anonymous letter illustrated with examples from Brazilian literature, this study focuses on letters inserted by Rosario Ferré in the short-story “La bella durmiente”/“Sleeping Beauty”(1976), combining tex- tual and sociocultural analysis, and associating anonymous letters both to women’s condition and the Puerto-Rican marginal situation as nation/state.
