Abstract
En el Hospital Pediátrico Docente "William Soler" se realizó un estudio retrospectivo de 50 pacientes en los que se aplicó la anestesia peridural vía caudal y se destacan como ventajas la seguridad y la sencillez de la técnica, una adecuada analgesia posoperatoria, un despertar tranquilo, un mínimo de complicaciones y una significativa reducción en los costos anestésicos.
A retrospective study of 50 patients was undertaken in the Teaching Pediatric Hospital. They were applied caudal paridural anesthesia whose advantages such as safety, simplicity, adequate post-surgery analgesia, easy and relaxed wake-up, minimun adverse effects and significant reduction in anesthesia costs are all stressed.
