Abstract
The purpose of this work was to exercise the students of an architecture course in the guidelines and standards of landscape planning concerning the use of the land, considering environmetal data and harmonizing the human action with the environment trough an ecological approach. We reckoned with a farm site near the city of Franca in the State of São Paulo on wich we had the planialtimetrical plan and aerial photography. We wished to locate these distinct uses in this site: commercial, industrial and residential ones, and furthermore to locate open spaces for recreation and conservation. At first a physiographical reconnaissanee was done following by an elaboration of the necessary mapas. Combining maps information, climatic data, information about urban design and climate and also legislation, the various students teams presented proposals for the use of the land.
