Abstract
O presente artigo tem como objeto de estudo as mudanças ocorridas no mundo do trabalho e, por conseguinte, no campo da educação, no período compreendido entre a segunda metade do século XVIII e o século XX. Mais precisamente, as últimas quatro décadas. Leva em conta as três fases da revolução industrial e as gestões de trabalho engendradas no final do século XIX e início do século XX ─ taylorismo, fordismo e toyotismo. O desafio é apreender as implicações entre essas transformações sociais e os propósitos educacionais.
