Abstract
However, in the practice these agents do not have enough information to carry out this task. They need tools to assess the current level of sustainability of tourism activity and identify the necessary measures to improve it. In this paper we propose a system of sustainable tourism indicators as a measuring tool. In order to facilitate the use of information system, we also develop synthetic indicators that provide an overview. They are obtained with a methodology that combines Principal Components Analysis and the distance to a reference point, so that this synthetic indicator, called DCP indicator, have a smaller associate subjectivity. Finally, we apply the proposed methodology to Andalusian coastal destinations and we illustrate how the results are interpreted.
