Se revisa los antecedentes y el estado actual del conocimiento, acerca de los moluscos acuáticos en el Perú. Los moluscos marinos y dulceacuícolas se tratan separadamente, y se da información sobre el número de familias, géneros y especies conocidas, su distribución geográfica y estado de su conservación y utilización por el hombre. Se incluye listas actualizadas de las especies.
