Abstract
The article studies the occurrence and the meaning of Peña Camasía, related with the expression of diablo de la peña (Camasía), and its lexical variations in some literary texts of Spanish Golden Age. After examination of the phenomenon of its diffraction linguistic, the article explores the historical and cultural origins of the expression in popular speech.
