Abstract
Pengelolaan pendidikan yang bersifat sentralistik menjadikan kebijakan pendidikan yang tidak memperhatikan kebutuhan daerah, kemampuan, standar, penerapan kurikulum yang disamakan antara satu daerah dengan daerah lainnya. Karena itu perlu dilakukan desentralisasi pendidikan agar dapat mendorong terbentuknya kemandirian dalam menentukan kebutuhan pendidikan sesuai dengan daerahnya, berpeluang untuk memberdayakan potensi lokal, dapat memperpendek birokrasi, bersifat elastis dan fleksibel.
