Abstract
Las empresas proveedoras de los fabricantes requieren de la innovación de productos para ofrecer productos diferenciados y de superior valor añadido. Para reducir costes y plazos en la innovación de productos han de utilizarse diversas técnicas, métodos y sistemas. Este trabajo busca conocer si las empresas hacen innovaciones tecnológicas y si utilizan determinadas técnicas que reducen el tiempo y costes de desarrollo de sus productos. Para ello se realiza una encuesta a una muestra de proveedores directos ubicados en Cataluña de los fabricantes de automóviles. La aplicación de las técnicas Homals y cluster permiten elaborar una tipología de empresas.
