Abstract
Este ensaio procurou fazer uma leitura do romance <em>Respiração artificial</em>, de Ricardo Piglia, buscando perceber nele indicações de uma crítica à modernidade e à pós-modernidade. Nesse sentido, utilizamos os estudos de Harvey (2012) e Jameson (1997) como apoio à leitura e ao entendimento crítico da modernidade e da pós-modernidade.
