Abstract
Este art culo analiza la campa a de contrainsurgencia llevada a cabo por el gobierno sudan s y las milicias janjawid durante la guerra de Darfur. La primera parte determina si dicha campa a constituy un genocidio con base en la de nici n y las cuatro pautas que B rbara Har propone para identi carlo. La segunda secci n explica la ocurrencia del genocidio de Darfur a partir de la revisi n hist rica y el an lisis de seis precondiciones o factores identi cados por Har : la agitaci n pol tica, los genocidios anteriores, la orientaci n ideol gica de la lite gobernante, el tipo de r gimen, el car cter tnico de la lite y la apertura comercial. Esta investigaci n busca determinar si las pol ticas conducidas por el gobierno sudan s y las milicias janjawid constituyeron genocidio o politicidio ?asesinato masivo de grupos pol ticos?, para posteriormente identi car y explicar sus causas.
