Abstract
A partir del minucioso estudio de 26 casos sobre amancebamiento,
extraídos de los archivos judiciales de Medellín, en momentos distintos de los siglos XVIII y XIX, se pretende dar una perspectiva de carácter histórico al amancebamiento como fenómeno social. Se estudia el hecho como una forma válida de unión matrimonial, aunque no exenta de penalización por parte de los estamentos judiciales, de los eclesiásticos o de la sociedad civil.
