Abstract
En el Siglo de Oro asistimos a un coleccionismo que se orienta a reunir curiosidades o piezas antiguas que se despliega en la corte y en ambientes cultos. Es un interés estético lo que guía a los eruditos a incorporar artefactos y obras de arte del pasado para embellecer casas y jardines, pero también es afán de conocer. En su Wunderkammer, que frecuentaban personajes como Baltasar Gracián, Lastanosa disponía de tratados sobre antigu?edad y numismática. Él mismo compuso manuscritos y editó dos obras: el Museo de las medallas desconocidas españolas, sobre moneda antigua, y el Tratado de la moneda jaquesa, sobre moneda medieval y moderna aragonesa.
