Abstract
This article reports on a research project identifying the roles of structured assignment in increasing the learning outcomes of students participating in the course unit of biostatistics. The research, involving 198 students and 3 faculty members, was carried out at the faculty of public Health, Airlangga University, Surabaya, Indonesia. Structure assignment and teaching materials were devised and implemented in the course. The results show some increase in the students' understanding of introductory Biostatistics
