Abstract
El artículo analiza a partir de un examen detallado de las Actas de la Asamblea Nacional Constituyente de 1949 en Costa Rica, los procesos, motivaciones, justificaciones y mecanismos ideológico-políticos presentes en la construcción de un discurso anticomunista como medio de exclusión partidaria y etiquetamiento de la acción política, cuya máxima expresión tuvo lugar en la inconstitucionalización del Partido Vanguardia Popular y que se constituyó en uno de los ejes centrales de la configuración política y la orientación ideológica de la “Segunda República” en los más álgidos años de la Guerra Fría.
