Abstract

In this article the author discusses one of the questions of legal linguistics that is a cross-disciplinary issue between language and law.

Theoretical and practical importance of this problem is related to the qualification of specific nature of legal language, i.e. the subject matter of jurislinguistics is a legal aspect of the language.

In the proposed work the author considers the peculiarities of the translation of certain legal concepts in the texts of legal acts and its combinability in stable structures «noun + verb». Noun components of such combinations vary to its semantics, but most of them are nouns of action. The meaning of the combination is generally formed on the basis of semantic component interaction. Provided that, the verb has more or less abstract meaning and points to the action in a generalized sense and the concrete meaning of the action is contained in a noun, which gives a semantic completeness to the combination.

The results of this study are of interest for translators of laws and regulations, teachers of German language working in the unit «Language of Profession. Jurisprudence» and might contribute to development of teaching of the language of profession.
