Abstract
La película documental La Batalla de Chile (1975-1979), de Patricio Guzmán, constituye hasta el día de hoy el más completo documental sobre el golpe de Estado en Chile de 1973. Aquí se analiza especialmente la tercera parte, El poder popular (1979), como una fuente gráfica para el análisis de la historia contemporánea. A través del lenguaje cinematográfico se pretende aportar elementos metodológicos para la construcción de un discurso histórico desde las fuentes audiovisuales. En este caso, el tema elegido es el proceso chileno hacia el socialismo del gobierno de Salvador Allende y su dramático final en el golpe de Estado del 11 de septiembre de 1973.
