Abstract
Salah satu informasi meteorologi yang sulit diprakirakan diantaranya yaitu terjadinya turbulensi pada saat cuaca cerah (TCC), sedangkan metoda yang lazim digunakan untuk mengetahui daerah TCC yaitu dengan menghitung bilangan Richardson (Ri).Untuk menduga lokasi terjadinya TCC yang  dialami oleh pesawat China Air Line, pada tanggal 20 September 2008 sekitar pukul 12.50 WIB yang terbang dari Taipe menuju Bali digunakan analisis data udara atas, satelit cuaca, dan prakiraan cuaca numerik model JMA (Numerical Weather Prediction/NWP). Hasil analisis data meteorologi tanggal 20 September 2008, pukul 11.00-13.00 WIB bahwa pesawat China Air Line diduga mengalami TCC lokasinya di sekitar Pulau Lulbu (Philipina/ posisi 7 - 15° LU, 115° - 120° BT), pada paras 300 - 400 mb, nilai bilangan Ri yaitu sekitar 200-290, ditengarai berada di daerah pertemuan dua (2) masa udara yaitu bagian bawah berasal dari barat kecepatan angin 10-15 knot, sedang bagian atas berasal dari timur kecepatan angin 15-25 knot, suhu puncak awan -70° C, sedang disebelahnya suhu + 10° C. Keadaan cuaca tersebut berkaitan dengan munculnya siklon tropis Hagupit di Philipina.   One of the difficult forecasted meteorological information such as the occurrence of Clear air turbulence (TCC). The methods commonly used to determine the TCC region that is by calculating the Richardson number (Ri). To infer the location of the TCC aircraft experienced by China Air Line, on 20 September 2008 at around 04:00 to 06:00 UTC flying from Taipei to Bali used the analysis of upper air data, weather satellites and numerical weather Prediction JMA model (Numerical Weather Prediction/NWP). The results of the analysis of meteorological data on September 20, 2008, at 04:00 to 06:00 UTC show that China Air Line occurred TCC loTCCion around the Lulbu island (Philipine), positions 7°-15° N, 115°-120° E, at 300-400 mb, the Ri number is about 200-290, which are loTCCed in areas suspected to be the confluence of two (2) the air mass, is coming from the bottom of the west wind speed 10-15 knots, while the top comes from the east 15-25 knots wind speed, cloud top temperature of -70° C, on the other side the air temperature of + 10° C. The weather conditions associated with the emergence of a tropical cyclone Hagupit in Philipine island.
