Abstract
Os séculos XVI e XVII formam um período de cisões. Ciência e religião não mais comungam os mesmos pensamentos, pilares da teologia católica são colocados em dúvida, o homem dilacera-se entre ser razão e ser fé. Tendo como objetivo compreender esse tempo, o presente artigo analisa ideias de dois literatos: Bertold Brecht e Padre Antônio Vieira.
