Abstract
Los Profesores Manuel Sánchez Herrera y Luis Patiño Camargo presentan un caso de Colitis Ulcerosa Idiopática. Hacen la exposición de motivos, presentan a la Academia la historia clínica, y detallado estudio anatomopatológico, sustentando su opinión en frente de los otros diagnósticos considerados, especialmente el de Amibiasis aguda. II En vista de tratarse de un caso controvertido, por intermedio de la Embajada de Colombia en Inglaterra consultan el concepto de autoridad del Prof. Philip Manson-Bahr de la Real Escuela de Medicina Tropical de Londres. III Se trascriben las cartas cruzadas entre los consultantes al doctor Jaramillo Arango, Embajador de Colombia en ese país y de éste al profesor aludido como la respuesta a ellas en sus textos originales y  las correspondientes traducciones al español. IV El prof. Manson-Bahr ratifica plenamente el concepto de los autores de que el enfermo Fideligno Suárez murió de una Colitis Ulcerosa Idiopática con claros signos de neumonía lobar posiblemente neumocóccica.
