Abstract
Pautado no pressuposto de que testes, inclusive os de língua, devem ser examinados e compreendidos minuciosamente, já que constituem uma ferramenta importante para a avaliação institucional dos indivíduos (MC NAMARA, 2000), este trabalho busca analisar e compreender as ferramentas utilizadas para medir o conhecimento e a habilidade de leitura em língua inglesa dos candidatos ao Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM) de 2011 e revela que as questões de língua inglesa deste Exame ainda não atendem inteiramente à sua proposta e precisam, portanto, de ajustes e adequações para que as competências e as habilidades propostas sejam realmente testadas.
