Abstract
En este artículo se detecta y estudia la asociación entre Heracles y una serie de pueblos, como el de las Amazonas y el de los escitas, que son al tiempo nómadas o seminómadas y especialmente diestros en el manejo del arco, el arma que privilegian sobre las demás. Una asociación plasmada con insistencia por las tradiciones literaria e iconográfica griegas, a la que no se suele prestar especial atención, pero que aquí detectaremos como elemento esencial de la identidad del héroe griego por excelencia.
