Abstract
This article deals with the problems of identification of criteria for selection of Sovietism in separate group of lexicon. In details the author considers the main selection criteria and analyses the parameters of their identification. As a result of analysis of the Soviet lexicon it was possible to identify the following criteria: lexicographic, semantic, the associative, subject, temporal, ideological, stylistic. According to the selected criteria the definition of Sovietism was defined. Results of research can be used in different courses of teaching of lexicon, the culture of speech, history of language, in lexicography.
