Abstract

Ciertamente, Jock Young -que por la amplitud de su trabajo teórico e investigación empírica, su amplio conocimiento del tema y su repercusión internacional puede ser calificado como “el sociólogo perfecto”- siempre fue un entusiasta de la criminología, además de ser uno de sus profesionales más exitosos e imaginativos. Así, es apropiado que finalice este artículo con la declaración de Young de por qué incluso en estos tiempos tumultuosos y políticamente adversos no deberíamos tener miedo de ser criminólogos críticos.
