Abstract
This work is part of a larger research project about settlements systern in Mexico. A functional classification of the main mexican cities is described to interpret the role of the system´s elements specialization (the settlement´s specialization) over the system´s behavior. This paper in particular, includes only some aspects of that interpretation.
