Abstract
The aim of this study is to calculate and analyze the correlation between the performance in providing services, the experience and profile of employees and investment in qualification. We use data from 2012 and 2013 of Ciarama Machines Ltda, a company in Ponta Porã, a city in Brazil. Regarding the methodology, we emphasize the use of correlation coefficients of Spearman (rank/order) and Pearson’s (values). As results we have observed that the hours invested in 2012 and 2013 (indicator of the employee performance) are strongly correlated to the internal training, the rate of Pearson between them is 0.919 and 0.926, respectively. In addition, the data have indicated that age, education and length of experience in the business variables are strongly correlated too, except for the age in 2013, which have maintained moderated correlation. However, concerning the Pearson index, in the case of external training, the result is not significant. Whereas for the Spearman correlation test, the Ho
(absence of association between variables) hypothesis has been rejected. However, in Pearson’s, the values of external training have not been statistically significant (in 2012 and 2013) and the same results can be applied to age in 2013.
