Abstract
The paper presents the results of survey research on young people’s psychosocial needs conducted among junior high school students in Lower Silesia. Based on the relevant literature, the author starts from the assumption that the development and spread of modern technologies contribute to suppressing or reducing young people’s need for interpersonal contact. The discussed outcomes, however, do not corroborate the assumption.
The second part of the article reflects on the implications the cited results have for education and advocates tutoring—an individualised learning and teaching method—as a viable solution for the Polish schooling system.
