Abstract
Editor del Novecientos uruguayo pero, también, pionero en la edición del teatro argentino, el italiano Orsini M. Bertani realizó una labor cultural clave para las minorías de su tiempo (que no siempre lo respaldaron) y, sobre todo, para el futuro. En el sello editorial que llevó su nombre publicó básicamente a los contemporáneos del modernismo naciente (Julio Herrera y Reissig, Delmira Agustini) y del realismo criollo o urbano (Florencio Sánchez, Javier de Viana, tal vez las primeras piezas de Armando Discépolo), cerrando su carrera con el impulso de la revistaÿLa Plumaÿ(1927-1931). Este artículo revisa su proyecto y sus líneas en el marco de los esfuerzos contemporáneos del Río de la Plata
