Abstract
Conforme apontado por Fairclough (2003, p. 77), “o desenvolvimento de tecnologias de comunicação acompanha o desenvolvimento de novos gêneros.” Um periódico fundado em 2006, JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments) trouxe novas possibilidades à publicação científica: o áudio e o vídeo. Dado o caráter recente de artigos em tal formato de publicação, ainda são inexistentes pesquisas que explorem características deste tipo de publicação. O objetivo do presente artigo é analisar artigos audiovisuais de pesquisa, publicados no periódico JoVE, com foco na metafunção interpessoal, de forma a investigar se este gênero emergente compartilha recursos interpessoais com artigos tradicionalmente escritos (SALAGER-MEYER, 1994; HYLAND, 1996; VARTALLA, 1998). Como procedimento metodológico, 12 artigos foram transcritos e analisados em termos de Modo Oracional, função de fala, e grau e função de Modalidade. Foi possível perceber que artigos audiovisuais de pesquisa possuem uma natureza predominantemente instrucional, o que os diferencia dos artigos tradicionalmente escritos.
