Abstract
In compliance with European Directives, Romanian authorities have established some principles for consumer credit, minimum standards for authorizing, regulating and monitoring credit institutions. These measures were required by the increase in imports due to consumer credit, while the national bank tempered this increase. Therefore, banks, together with the big shops, perfect their techniques to attract customers.
