Abstract

The work The Reflection of Gender Relations in the Everyday Experience of Incestuous Sexual Violence Against Children and Teenagers reflects on the dynamic of families marked by sexual violence, characterizing the relationship between their members and establishing the link between asymmetric power relations between men and women (beyond intergenerational inequalities) and the everyday experience of intra-family violence, especially of a sexual nature, against children and teenagers. It also aims to demystify the belief in the “mother’s omission” in relation to such occurrences. As a rule, this type of violence is found in families where intergenerational boundaries have been breached and roles have been ill-defined, resulting in conflict resolution by means of violence.
