Abstract
This text brings some reflections about Brazil‟s Independence and the formation of Brazilian National State, from political history scope, not only about State and its institutions but the historiographical knowledge production as well. These reflections intend to think about themes connected to this historic field, reviewing old traditions and possible different thoughts for the researches continuance.
