Abstract
El presente trabajo, tras la justificación del estudio y la contextualización del poema en el ciclo cidiano, aborda la cuestión de la autoría y la tradición épica y se centra en los motivos épicos tradicionales que presenta, así como en las fórmulas propias de un género oral y los materiales que revelan su raigambre folklórica. Por último, se estudian dos motivos significativos desde el punto de vista de la tradición clásica: el del leproso y el de las cinco lides.
