Abstract
La profundización en bibliografía nacional en Ciencias Sociales acerca de dinámicas religiosas sectarias, permite traslucir la utilización de tipologías y definiciones que conforman una representación de lo “sectario”, principalmente a través de la criminalización y desracionalización del miembro y/o grupo; subalternizando este saber y deslegitimándolo como opción religiosa. Así, la secta y sectarios son impregnados de una “peligrosidad en potencia”, dándole una connotación negativa antes de cualquier acción, fomentando diferencias entre instituciones religiosas y colaborando a una peyorativización de estos grupos en el imaginario colectivo y políticas públicas estatales.
