Abstract
En este artículo, el autor analiza algunas de las preguntas clave para entender el complicado panorama internacional actual. ¿Estados Unidos ejerce a nivel internacional, durante la primera década del siglo xxi, la función de hegemonía o la de dominio?, ¿se pueden seguir negociando las diferencias y conflictos a partir de las reglas sancionadas por el derecho internacional actual?, o, por el contrario, ¿es menester ajustar las reglas del juego a nivel nacional y mundial y modificarlas sustancialmente? En este contexto, el autor indaga las razones de la pérdida de hegemonía norteamericana y su sustitución por el dominio ejercido a nivel internacional. Aborda también el papel económico y político de otros países y su impacto en la arena internacional dentro de los marcos actuales de crisis económica y política en buena parte del mundo.
