Abstract
En el presente artículo se analiza el grado de inserción de los motivos animalísticos en la comedia El príncipe perseguido, escrita por Luis de Belmonte en colaboración con Agustín Moreto y Antonio Martínez de Meneses. Nos centramos en detectar las imágenes simbólicas y emblemáticas, reelaboradas poéticamente por los autores, y determinar sus fuentes, el sentido alegórico de que dotan a las escenas de la obra, así como la función que desempeñan dentro de la trama.
