Abstract
A repercussão do trabalho do educador francês Célestin Freinet no Brasil percorreu caminhos contraditórios, talvez tão contraditórios quanto o próprio conteúdo e contexto de construção de sua obra. Geralmente ausente dos currículos das escolas de formação de professores, mesmo em períodos mais atuais, Freinet sustentou boa parte das iniciativas de consolidação de projetos de educação “alternativa” gestadas, sobretudo nas décadas de 70 e 80 na maioria dos centros urbanos brasileiros.
