Abstract
O monólogo lamentoso do escravo Sósia, nos versos 153-262 do Anfitrião de Plauto, é exemplo da virtuosidade métrica do poeta e da qualidade ao mesmo tempo sonora e imagética de sua poesia. A partir de certa noção particular de ‘lirismo’ na poesia romana – tal como Pierre Grimal a expõe em Le lyrisme à Rome – examino aqueles versos de Plauto (dos quais apresento uma tradução) procurando demonstrar de que maneiras se associam ritmo, som, imagem e sentido, e de que modo tal associação é coerente com aquela noção particular de lirismo.
