Abstract
Este ensayo rememora el encuentro ocurrido a inicios del siglo XX entre la literatura vanguardista y el socialismo. Recorriendo un camino que va de los comentarios de José Carlos Mariátegui sobre el cine de Charlie Chaplin, a la exploración de la narrativa vanguardista de Martín Adán, la reflexión aquí propuesta se funda en el pensamiento de Walter Benjamin. Para la elaboración de este trabajo se han desarrollado algunas de las secciones de una tesis de maestría escrita para el Dartmouth College.
