Abstract
El síntoma constituye una solución
de compromiso entre una
demanda de goce pulsional y
aquello que actúa al modo de una
ley impidiendo su realización. Los
síntomas hablan pero, como tales,
no solucionan nada; sin embargo,
permiten lograr los primeros posicionamientos
subjetivos dando
lugar a la transferencia. Su envoltura
formal, hecha de elementos
simbólicos e imaginarios, da cobijo
a un goce que queda, así, acotado.
Las adicciones se presentan como
un rechazo de dicha funcionalidad
pero también abren la pregunta:
¿es solo su fracaso o una nueva
envoltura formal?
L’embarras du symptôme dans les toxicomanies
Le symptôme est une solution de
compromis entre une demande de
jouissance pulsionnelle et ce qui,
en tant que loi, opère pour empêcher
sa réalisation. Les symptômes
parlent, mais en tant que tels, ils
ne résolvent rien ; pourtant les
premiers emplacements subjectives
qui ensuite feront place au transfert
seront possibles grâce au symptôme.
Son enveloppe formelle,
faite d’éléments symboliques et
imaginaires, retient une jouissance
qui en résulte ainsi bornée. Les toxicomanies
sont présentées comme
un rejet de cette fonctionnalité du
symptôme, mais elles permettent
également de se demander s’il ne
s’agit là que de son échec ou bien
d’une nouvelle enveloppe formelle.
The complexity of symptoms in addictions
A symptom constitutes a compromise
between a demand of the
jouissance drive and something that
acts as a law, preventing its realization.
These symptoms speak, but
they don’t solve anything by themselves;
however, they do allow for
an attainment of the first subjective
positions, and then give transference
an opportunity to appear. Their
formal wrapping, made of symbolic
and imaginary elements, shelters a
jouissance that stays limited in this
way. Addictions are presented as a
rejection of this functionality, but
they also raise the question: Is it
just the functionality’s failure or a
new formal wrapping?
