Abstract
O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre o processo de socialização do indivíduo contemporâneo a partir do ponto de vista do educador, mais especificamente sob a ótica da sociologia da educação. A autora aborda a particularidade do processo de socialização pela sua contextualização em uma nova configuração sociocultural, tendo como base a concepção de modernidade de Anthony Giddens. Procura também abordar esse fenômeno a partir das contribuições de Émile Durkheim, Peter Berger, Thomas Luckmann e, mais recentemente, François Dubet e Bernard Lahire, enfatizando os limites das concepções clássicas da socialização diante do surgimento de uma cultura midiática.
The aim of this paper is to look at the contemporary individual's socializing process from the standpoint of the educator, more specifically, from the Sociology of Education point of view. It deals with the particularity of the socializing process through its contextualization in a new socio-cultural configuration, based on Anthony Giddens' concept of modernity. It also deals with this phenomenon taking Émile Durkheim, Peter Berger, Thomas Luckmann and, more recently, François Dubet e Bernard Lahire's contributions, highlighting the limits of classical socialization concepts facing the emergence of a media-boosted culture.
